Community Covenant Church

Community Covenant Church, Scotts Valley, CA

The church has a strong presence in Scotts Valley, with its three crosses, prominent on the stretch of Highway 17 between Santa Cruz and Scotts Valley. The main church was built with the participation of church members is the 1970’s, and because of this sweat equity, there is a pride in the facilities. However, by the beginning of the 2000’s, the buildings were beginning to look (well) used and a little jaded. We were employed to freshen up the buildings, make the campus accessible, and also provide a vision for expanding the campus into the future – design an office building, design a gymnasium, expand the classrooms into the existing office areas, and enlarge the Sanctuary, making the platform area more useable for modern worship services, and renewing the interior with new lighting and audio visual equipment.

Phase 1 was completed in 2009, and included the following:

  • Exterior Children’s Play Area, with a fence / living wall / arbor tying the play area to the entrance of the
  • Main Church Building
  • New enlarged, accessible stage area, with new rear wall and a picture window that echoes the “three
  • cross” church motif.
  • New enlarged and accessible bathrooms
